About
The essence of good writing is interesting clarity that engages, informs, and entertains. In many ways, I have spent my life as a writer. Undergraduate and graduate schools provided a beginning. My government service in a senior leadership capacity was a continual source of writing challenges. From responding to congressional inquiries to preparation of lengthy policy, procedure and “about us” materials, formal report and business writing is one of my strengths.
A quote from a blog post sums up my writing philosophy:
“See things as they are and write about them. Don’t waste your creative energy trying to make things up. Even if you are writing fiction, write the things you see and know.” Real Live Preacher, Real Live Preacher weblog, 07-25-06.
And so I write, of the things I see, in the community, in the nation, and in the world. Being from Louisiana, descending from immigrants from l’Acadie, I say “allon et laissez le bon temp rouler”. That is, “let’s go and let the good times roll !”.
